After five weeks of the 2021 Baseball Ireland Cadet League Mariners Baseball were on top with four wins from five games, with The Warriors – a combined Dublin City Hurricanes / Ashbourne team – hot on their heels with 3 wins from five. Ashbourne Titans (Co. Meath) were third with two wins and Red Rox Baseball from Portmarnock, Co. Fingal / North Co. Dublin in fourth with one win in the fifth week versus Ashbourne Titans (12-11). Mariners one loss up to that date (11th July 2021) was a 6-3 reverse to The Warriors in Week 5 (11th July 2021).
By Week 10 Mariners had jumped out to a big three game lead over nearest rivals The Warriors thanks to two consecutive wins over Ashbourne, one by default after the Titans conceded. This was despite a Warriors victory over Mariners in Week 6 (14-4), as the Warriors had a shock loss to the Titans the following week. Red Rox meanwhile got their first wins of the season with two consecutive wins over Ashbourne.
