Report

Pelicans won all 14 games in the Inline Hockey Ireland Elite League season in 2018-19, before defeating Midland Thunder 10-2 in the Semi-Finals and Bangor Chiefs 8-3 in the Playoff Final. Midland Thunder finished third with a 6-4 victory over Dublin Rebels in the 3rd Place Playoff. All 8 teams played a full 14 game schedule, with Northern Cyclones who finished in fourth opting out of the Playoffs, and Kilkenny Storm, Cork Wolfpack and Rileys the other three teams.

After the season Pelicans and Northern Cyclones disbanded, and Rileys merged with Shadow Bandits to become Riley’s Shadow Bandits. New team Rileys and the promoted Midland Thunder had replaced Dublin Wolves (who disbanded) and Cavan Longford Hawks after the 2017-18 season. Cavan Longford Hawks who took a year out in 2018-19, returned as Longford Hawks in League 1 in 2019-20 after one season as Cavan Longford Hawks.
