Recap

St. Peter’s Pumas won their second National Gridiron Association (UK) Junior Flag Football tournament in 2001 when they triumphed in the July 4th Weekend Tournament hosted by Wirral Wolves, defeating both Chorley Buccaneers and the hosts.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL GRIDIRON ASSOCIATION (UK)

The National Gridiron Association (UK) was set up in 2001 for the purposes of running Junior Flag Football Tournaments involving Schools in the North West of England. The Junior Age Category was for 12-14 year-olds and was Coed (Mixed) – both boys and girls could play on the one team.

National Gridiron Association Lancashire Flag Tournament Spring 2001

Recap

St. Peter’s Pumas won the first National Gridiron Association (UK) Junior Flag Football Tournament which they hosted themselves in Lancashire in early May 2001. In their first game they defeated Chorley Buccaneers 26-0 and then won the three-team tournament with a 26-6 triumph over Salford Storm. Salford came second after defeating Chorley, also by a 26-6 scoreline.
