REPORT

Cannock Chase Giants won the Eastern Conference title ahead of Broncos, whilst Cambridge pulled out after two games. In the Southern Conference, Thunderbolts won the Conference title, with London Gators qualifying for the playoffs in second place, and Exiles finishing in third.

The Thames Valley Thunderbolts and London Gators won through to the Final, where the Thunderbolts confirmed their dominance all season, with a 41-15 victory. Thames Valley Chargers star Ez Charles scored three touchdowns, and a three-point pass in the second quarter to put the ‘Bolts in a commanding lead at the half which they never relinquished.

Charles scored on a 31 yard run before finding Kenroy Barnett and Andy Tilbury with 23-yard and 16-yard TD Passes. Tibury got a hat-trick of his own, with a 22-yard TD Pass from Joe Greenidge in the first quarter, and a 32-yard Interception Return to finish off the scoring. Andy Tait linked up with Andy Falconer for two TD Passes for some consolation for the London Gators.

The National Passball League was an Arena-style American Football League in the England, played on a smaller field than a regular American Football field, and with a focus on passing (Passball is played on a 40-yard field with two 8-yard endzones, with five downs or attempts to score, three of which must be passing plays, before the ball is turned over). It is seven-a-side.

The National Passball League in England expanded to 11 teams for 1992, with the Cannock Chase Giants winning 30-29 in one Semi-Final against St. Helens Cardinals. Defending Champions Thunderbolts defeated Snappy Snap Gators 41-39 in another close Semi-Final, but a League investigation was launched into whether they should be allowed play in the Final after it was alleged they had kitted-up more than the 18 players allowed on gameday.

Farnham Knights won the National Passball League title, triumphing 36-19 over Northern Division Champions Cannock Chase Giants 36-19 in Passball ’93 Final. The defeated Semi-Finalists were Ealing Eagles and St. Helens Cardinals.

The nine team League was divided into Northern and Southern Divisions with the Redditch Geriatrics, Sheldon Renegades, Nottingham Crusaders, Herts Ballhawks and West Sussex Wolverines the other teams.

Cannock Chase Giants won the Eastern Conference title ahead of Broncos, whilst Cambridge pulled out after two games. In the Southern Conference, Thunderbolts won the Conference title, with London Gators qualifying for the playoffs in second place, and Exiles finishing in third.
