Central American Sports

Central American Sports include Ulama Pok-ta-Pok which is perhaps the oldest sport in the world, where players attempt to get a rubber ball past the opposing team using their hips. It is the traditional sport of the Mexica (Aztecs – who call it Ulama) and the Maya (who call it Pok-ta-Pok). It is played in Central Mexico (Mexica) and the Mexican states of Chiapas, Quintana Roo and Yucatan, as well as in the Central American Countries of Guatemala and Belize by the Maya.
