Report
Ireland hosted their first ever International Olympic Handball (also known as Team Handball or European Handball) Tournament in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.
Showing they had a long way to go in what was a new sport to Ireland, they lost emphatically to Greenland after an opening loss to Liverpool who had won the National League eight times and the British Cup six times up to this point. After another big loss to the TSV Korntal U-21 team, they then drew with the German Club sides Senior team 12-all, which was a remarkable result, as the sport is one of Germany’s National Sports.
Greenland won the Final, 23-13 over Liverpool. [1-2]
