Report
The Dublin Celts won the 1987 Jack Daniels Summer Bowl Festival 26-0 against the Belfast Blitzers. the following year in Northern Ireland the Republic of Ireland Allstars triumphed 21-13 over the Northern Ireland Allstars.
About
The Jack Daniels Summer Bowl was an International Festival featuring the Dublin Celts and teams from Northern Ireland, including sometimes Northern Ireland representative squads, as well as Flag Football Challenge Games involving the RTE Raiders and GOAL Heroes (GOAL is an Irish Development Aid Charity and RTE is the Irish National Broadcaster). both the Flag and Kitted games featured celebrities such as Tony Ward of the Ireland International rugby Team. [1]
The games were played under Hurlaball Rules – One Hour Long, Running Clock and the winning team always kicked off to the losing team, rather than the team who just scored kicking off. [3]
