Report
The first Official NFL game played in Mexico was in 1978, when the New Orleans Saints defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 14-7 in Mexico City. From 1994 to 2001 inclusive the American Bowl Preseason Series of games took in one game in Mexico each year inclusively (except 1995 and 1999), with the Dallas Cowboys playing in four matches, winning one against the Oakland Raiders in Mexico City in 2001, and fellow Texans Houston Oilers winning 6-0 against the Cowboys in Mexico City in 1994.
The Cowboys and Indians theme was kept for the other games, with the Denver Broncos losing to the Miami Dolphins, again in Mexico City in 1997 and the Indianapolis Colts defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2000. In the only game played outside Mexico City, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Dallas Cowboys 32-6 in Monterrey in 1996. New England Patriots were the other winners over the Cowboys, in 1998.
