About the Central American Championship
The Central American Championship was a Soccer Tournament for the seven Central American members of UNCAF (Union Centroamericano de Futbol). It was usually played as a four-team Final Group in a host Nation after two qualifying groups, and doubled as the Qualifying Tournament for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. It was first played in 1991, although there were precursor tournaments.
