Report

Grand Rapids Shamrocks, clearly marketed to the Irish Community, won the 1961 Championship by a score of 20-7 against the Columbus Colts. Wheeling Ironmen won the next two Championships, 31-21 versus Grand Rapids Blazers in 1962 and 30-21 against Toledo Tornadoes in 1963. Canton Bulldogs won the last title, 19-14 against the Indianapolis Warriors before the League merged with the Atlantic Coast Football League to form the Continental Football League in 1965.

The United Football League was a AA American Football League in the Mid-West of the United States from 1961-1964 when it merged with the Atlantic Coast Football League to form the AAA Continental Football League once the American Football League had announced plans to merge with the National Football League and play the Super Bowl for the Pro Championship.
