Report
The Volleyball Association of Ireland was rebranded Volleyball Ireland in 2017. The Premier Women was won by Garda (35 Points) in 2017-18 on the last day in a close battle with Galway VC (33 Pts) and UCD (32 Pts). Ballymun Patriots and Newbridge Wildcats were relegated and replaced by Aer Lingus Hawks and TCD (Trinity College Dublin) for 2018-19.
Garda again won the Premier Women League title in 2018-19, by a more comfotable margin of 5 points from DVC (Dublin Volleyball Club). The League dropped down to seven teams for 2019-20 after Galway VC and Aer Lingus Hawks were relegated and only one team, Munster Thunder, were promoted.
The 2019-20 season was cancelled after 10 rounds due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic which led to the cancellation of all sport. [Reference: 5]
