About the GAA Football National League

GAA Football National League is a County-level represetative competition that takes up the first half of the GAA Calendar (the All-Ireland Championship takes up the second half). From 2004 to 2006 the counties were divided into two Divisions based on merit. The two Divisions were then sub-divided into Divisions 1A and 1B and Divisions 2A and 2B. The top two of each Division then met in their respective Semi-Finals, with the winners qualifying for the Final. There was autmatic promotion/relegation from Divisions 1 and 2. In 2007 the Leahue was reorganised into Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4.
