Saskatoon Valkyries won the 9th Western Women’s Canadian Football League Championship in 2019, defeating hosts Regina Riot 25-3 in the Championship Game. They had gone through the season undefeated with a 4-0 Regular Season Record, topping the Prairie Conference before comprehensive victories over Winnipeg Wolfpack (66-0) and Lethbridge Steel (53-0) in the Playoffs.

The Regina Riot were runners-up in the Prairie Conference, advancing to the Championship Game with a 30-8 win over Western Conference Champions Edmonton Storm, after a 13-9 defeat of Manitoba Fearless in the Semi-Finals. Other teams in the eight-team WWCFL were Calgary Rage, runners-up in the Western Conference but knocked out at the Quarter-Final stage by Lethbridge; and Northern Anarchy, who dropped out of the League for 2020.
