Recap

The Central Asian American Football Association was established by Tom Kelly in April 2002 after he approached the American University of Kyrgyzstan about setting up a team. Following a couple of Flag Football games versus KIMEP from Almaty in Kazakhstan, a team was set up in Bishkek: BARS Leopards who after playing a game amonst themselves in 2004 were able to play KIMEP from 2005 to 2008 in a series of Challenge Games following the arrival of more kit from Tom Kelly in USA.

In 2007 a second team was set up in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan: Bishkek Golden Eagles and from 2007 to Spring 2008 the two Bishkek teams also played Challenge Games between the teams. Golden Eagles won the first Challenge Game in May 2007.
