Hale Blue Devils were one of three teams of United States Servicemen stationed in Northern Ireland during Autumn 1942 while the Allies were at war with the Axis. Hale were the Service Unit and played Yarvard Crimson Tide (the Artillery Unit) at Ravenhill, the home of Ulster Rugby on November 14, 1942, winning 9-7. The game is the earliest verified game of American Football in Ireland.
