Leipzig Kings improved to 2-4 with this home win over Berlin Thunder, dropping the Thunder to 1-4 and last place in the ELF Division North. M Birdsong completed 3 touchdown passes in an explosive second quarter which also saw J Aguemon run in for a touchdown for Leipzig as they marched to a 27-8 half-time lead. In between the four Kings TD’s the Berlin Thunder scored one themselves when S Jones caught a 13 yard pass from B Zerbe.
The Third quarter was as the first with no scoring, but then yet again the half exploded into action as first Leipzig extended their lead with a 24 yard J Templar run, before nervousness set in among the Kings fans with two Berlin touchdowns from Quarterback C Stitt, narrowing the score to 35-24. However, late in the game Leipzig’s defense tackled Thunder’s runningback A Gehrt in the endzone for a safety, ending the comeback. Final Score: Leipzig Kings 37 Berlin Thunder 24
