Northern Knights played terrific Baseball over the weekend in defeating Dublin Spartans 10-4 in the Final of the Dublin International Baseball Tournament in 2007. MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the Tournament Todd Rapello pitched two very solid games during the decider.

Report

Slocum Baseball Club won the the Dublin International Baseball Tournament in Corkagh Park, Clondalkin, over the weekend of 12th to 13th of July. In brilliant sunshine, the team from Rhode Island, USA, with the final game close for the first four innings as Slocum led the President’s 9 4-3, but the American Team pulled away in the end to win 14-3. Ireland’s Cormac Eklof was named MVP (Most Valuable Player).

**Dixie League Champions. The Dixie Association was a one-year merger of the Texas and Southern Leagues in 1971.

The Texas League is currently a AA (3rd Level) Baseball League in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. It has also at times included New Mexico. It forms one of three AA (3rd Level) Pro Leagues in the Minor League Baseball System (levels AAA to A, and Rookie), below Major League Baseball, along with the Eastern League and Southern League.
