With the Ladies League due to start in a month or two, East Coast Blaze Ladies and Kilkenny Ladies put on a friendly display of All-female Inline Hockey on 20 January 2008 at the Valley Leisure Centre, Newtownabbey, with the exception of the Blaze netminder, who was borrowed from the ECB Men’s team as the Blaze Ladies were currently seeking a new goalie. Janine De Volder opened the scoring for Kilkenny in the 1st Period and East Coast Blaze’s Tracey Hughes equalised in the second period. The game finished 1-1.
