History: Founded after the Craigavon Cowboys went on hiatus. The Lurgan Area Raiders adopted the Silver-and-Black image of the NFL’s LA Raiders, as well as making reference to the name. They played two seasons in the mid-nineties, winning 2 of a total of 13 games.

Dublin Rebels Atlantic Cup 2017 Champions

 

The 2017 Atlantic Cup was a single game between the Irish Champions, Dublin Rebels, and the Romanian Champions, Bucharest Rebels.The French entrant, Les Diables Rouges, pulled out at the last minute as their flight was cancelled and long-standing Atlantic Cup contenders Netherlands and Belgium decided to take the step up to EFL Cup level.[2]

Final

Andy Dennehy threw three touchdowns as the Dublin Rebels had a comfortable win over their Romanian namesakes. Back-up Quarterback Jack Fagan also threw a touchdown pass as the Romanians posted two touchdowns themselves in the first ever European Final involving a Romanian team. Receiver James Kalis scored two of the touchdowns for the Rebels, and Ciaran Fitzpatrick and Peter Keely also caught passes in the end-zone as the Dublin team ran out 42-14 winners.[2]

As well as the four passing touchdowns, there also rushing touchdowns by Wello Omorodian and Pete McMahon for the Dublin Rebels.[2]
