Report

After a short 2-game season for each of the three teams in the American Football Canterbury League, Warhawks (2-0) took on Wolfpack (1-1) in the Final in what the AFC website described as a final for the ages between the two AFC titans.

Wolpack’s Rookie Quarterback Josh Thompson settled early in the game and connected with his receivers for 4 Touchdowns, including a bizarre fumbling play which left the Warhawks defense baffled as they rushed towards the ball leaving the Wide Receivers open for a late score that sealed the game.

Warhawks QB Steven Harris was also in fine form, proving hard to stop, however, a crucial Interception by cornerback Jaka Payot settled the Wolfpack defense.

The Warhawks got into a game tying position late in the game behind Captains Anthony Vea and Steven Harris, but the late fumble play score settled matters, with standouts for the Wolfpack including rookies Nick Smith and Corbin Menchen. [Reference: 1]

About

The X-League is the Professional American Football League Section of the Japan American Football Association. The X-League itself is divided into three Divisions (X1, X2, X3) based on ability, with the X1 League split into a Super 9 and Battle 9 (Top and Bottom) with playoffs to follow. The teams are known as “Social Teams” as opposed to the College Teams, and are made up of Big Businesses.

The winners of the X Bowl meet the College Champions in the Rice Bowl, the Ultimate Game in Japanese American Football.
