The Edenderry Soldiers hosted the Christy Farrell Memorial Tournament in Edenderry Rugby Club, Co. Offaly. They were a new and developing team that were tested by the Cork Admirals 2nds, putting up a good fight before the Admirals took the lead, and eventually found the endzone on four occasions: Martin Mulrey, Alain Pezeron, Dave Barry and Ibrahim Khadra getting touchdowns. They beat the Edenderry Soldiers 28-0 in the opening game and then defeated Dublin dragons 2nds 42-0. They were scheduled to take part in a third match against the Tallaght Outlaws 2nds but a combination of a serious injury to a player and the torrential rain making the playing surface unsafe led to the rest of the tournament being cancelled and the Admirals declared winners. Wide Receiver Dave Barry was the star for the Admirals, scoring a total of four touchdowns.
