Sevilla FC from Spain won the UEFA Europa League in 2019-20, defeating Inter Milan 3-2 in the Final, after earlier knocking out Wolves of England in the Quarter-Finals, who included two Irish players in their squad: Matt Doherty, who played in the Quarter-Final, and Callum Thompson, who did not appear in their match.

Sevilla also defeated Manchester United in the Semi-Finals. The Manchester United squad included Ethan Galbraith of Northern Ireland, although he did not appear in either of their matches.

South Mayo 1 defeated Ballina 1 by a score of 7-2 in the Mayo District Darts Leagues Team Championship in the Ivy Tower Hotel in 2020. Other Leagues’ Teams competing were Erris (Shield winners), Westport 2 (Plate winners), as well as South Mayo 2, Ballina 2, East Mayo, Castlebar 1 & 2 and Westport 1.

The Championship is for representative teams of the Darts Leagues in Mayo (Ballina, Castlebar, East Mayo, Erris, South Mayo and Westport.

The South Mayo Darts League of 2019-20 was cut short due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus edpidemic, with government restrictions banning all forms of sporting activity from 12 March 2020 until August-September 2020.

CJ’s Ranch were in first place in the A League with 124 points from 8 matches, with Lyons’ Bar A in second with 100 Points from 6 Matches. In the B League Lyons’ Bar B (120 Pts), Tierney’s (113 Pts), Fitzers’ (111 Pts) and Bourke’s (97 Pts) had all qualified for the Semi-Finals, due to take place on the 13th March 2020.

It was won in 2000 and 2005 by Flash La Corneuve, a suburb of Paris, in 2001 and 2002 by Argonautes Aix-en-Provence, aa satellite town of Marseilles, 2004 by Spartiates Amiens and 2006 by Templiers Elancourt.

Dunedin Connollys of Scotland won the Britain GAA Junior Club Football Championship after triumphing over Sean McDermotts of Warwickshire in the Final by 5 points (1-17 to 1-12). they had seen off the challenge of St. Colmcille’s of St. Alban’s in Hertfordshire in the Semi-Finals.

The All-Britain Junior Football Championship is for the Junior (3rd Level or 3rd Division) in Britain Men’s Gaelic Football. Seven counties are eligible to compete: London, Warwickshire, Lancashire, Yorkshire, Hertfordshire, Gloucestershire and Lancashire, which between them make up all of England and Wales, as well as the Scotland GAA Champions. Kilkenny’s Gaelic Football Champions may also enter.

The Winners of the All-Britain GAA Championship are eligible to play in the All-Ireland Junior Club Championship alongside the Junior Provincial Champions of Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster.

The Scotland GAA Football Senior Club Championship has been won most often by Dunedin Connollys (Edinburgh) with 14 titles from 2003 to 2018 plus one in 1994, interrupted only by Glasgow Gaels in 2006 and 2019 and Tir Conaill Harps in 2012.

Prior to that the champions were Mulroy Gaels (5 times) Sands McSweeneys (3 times), St. Patricks (3 times), Dundee Dalriada (twice), and Clan na Gael (once – the first Championship Final in 1985). In addition Tir Conaill Harps won the title in 2001 for a total of 2, and Glasgow Gaels in 2002 for a total of 3 Championships.

The Britain GAA Junior Club Football Provincial Championship has been won most often by London GAA clubs since 1967, with only Warwickshire GAA’s Sean McDermott’s (1972, 1973, 1975) and John Mitchell’s (1988) and two wins for Yorkshire’s Hugh O’Neill’s (1982 and 1999) and one win for Lancashire GAA’s De La Salle College (1974) interupting the sequence.

London clubs have won all the rest with 13 London GAA clubs on the winners roll, including 16 for Tir Conaill Gaels (thr first in 1983 and most recent in 2015), 8 for An Riocht between 1976 and 1989, five for Parnell’s (spread out from 1968 to 1991), three for Tara (1980, 1995 and 2003), and two for Kingdom Kerry Gaels (2004 and 2013), St. Brendan’s (2002 and 2006) and Fulham Irish (2011 and 2017).

The most recent winners have been Thomas McCurtains of London, with a 7 point victory over Scotland GAA’s Glasgow Gaels in the Final (1-11 to 0-7). The winners of the Britain GAA Football Club Championship qualify to play in the All-Ireland Junior Club Championship (3rd Level or Division) alongside the Junior Provincial Champions of Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster.

Dundrum Archers finished top of the Medal haul in the Archery Ireland Wicklow Indoor Open 2020 with 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 4 Bronze. Blackheath archers finished second with two Gold, and hosts Wicklow Archers third with 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze.

Carl McCaffrey (Dundrum Archers) won the Men’s Recurve Gold with a score of 1130, and Carmel Malone (Dundrum Archers) won the women’s Recurve with a score of 999.

The Men’s Compound Gold Medal went to Dean Hamilton of Ballyvally and the Womens Compund Gold went to Deirdre Rogers of CuChulainn.
