Report
Western Crusaders won the Victorian Gridiron Football League Vic Bowl in 1999 and 2000. In the fifth period of Overtime in 1999, Quarterback Glenn Parker connected with Wide Receiver Tal Brown for the winning touchdown, to give the Crusaders a 20-14 victory over the Croydon Rangers.
In the 2000 Vic Bowl XVI, the Crusaders defeated Nunawading Warriors 14-0 to take their second title in two years.
There were six teams in the VGFL in 1999: The aforementioned, Crusaders, Rangers and Warriors, as well as the Geelong Wildcats, Berwick Miners and Steelers. The Steelers dropped out after the 1999 season leaving five teams for both the 2000 and 2001 seasons.
