Report
Alabama Crimson Tide won the 2015-16 National Collegiate Athletic Association Football Division 1 Football Bowl Series College Football Playoff National championship by beating Clemson tigers 45-40 in a close game.
Alabama had won the SEC Southeastern Conference title by beating Florida Gators 29-15, whilst Clemson had won the ACC Atlantic Coast Conference with a close 45-37 victory over North Carolina Tar Heels. In another close Conference championship Game, Michigan State Spartans won 16-13 against Iowa Hawkeyes, while in the PAC-10 Pacific 10 Conference, Stanford Cardinal won bragging rights for Northern California with a 41-22 victory over Southern California Trojans.
In the College Football Playoff Semi-Finals, Alabama defeated Michigan State 38-0 in a shutout victory, while in the other Semi-Final, Clemson had defeated Oklahoma, the Big 12 Conference Champions, 37-17.
In other Bowl games, Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost to Ohio State Buckeyes, 44-28 in the Fiesta Bowl, finishing 10-3 (Won-Lost) for the season.
