After that one season, the League took a long break, returning in 2002 after five seasons of a Commonwealth of Independent States League, six of a Moscow Federation of American Football Junior League and five years of Tournaments. The Astrakhan Junior Tournament was for players aged 14-16 and took place in Autumn, halfway through the regular season (The Junior Regular Season was split with half the year taking place before Christmas in Autumn and half after New Years Day in Spring).
