Report
After years playing in Austrian Lower Divisions there were enough Slovenian American Football teams in 2010 to form their own American Football League – the ZANS Zveza za Ameriski Nogomet Slovenije – which featured four teams: Ljubljana Silverhawks (the Champions), Maribor Generals, Kranj Alp Devils and Celje Gold Diggers. Ljubljana Silverhawks defeated Alp Devils 41-0 in Slo Bowl I. Celje pulled out in 2011 and the three remaining teams were joined by Zagreb Thunder and Zagreb Raiders from Croatia. Again the League was won by the Silverhawks 29-19 over Zagreb Thunder. In 2012 the two Croatian teams joined with other Croatian teams to form their own league and the ZANS was again down to three teams, although the Croatian teams played a half-schedule against the Slovenian teams, The Slo Bowl was won again in 2012 and 2013 by Ljubljana Silverhawks, Slo Bowl III 23-10 over Maribor Generals and then in Slo Bowl IV 45-0 against the same team. The ZANS League ceased operations after that year with the teams concentrating on playing in the Alpe-Adria Football League. It was resurrected in 2017.
